BLOODSHEDDING LOVE (2011)
PLOT: A young drifter, Sammy, walks into a small town looking for peace and tranquility. That ideal, however, comes to a halt when he stumbles across a gang-beating and tries to prevent it. When the gang, the Reps, discovers that Sammy is a homosexual, their homophobic ideals drive them to also beat Sammy to near death. The beating ceases, however, when the Reps' rival gang, the Krats, comes to the rescue and takes Sammy in as one of their own, not knowing he's a homosexual. Tensions arise, when Sammy falls in love with another man who lives on the Reps' side of town. Should Sammy conceal his true identity? Should he pursue his love interest with another man who lives on the rival gang's turf?
SEAN'S TAKE: At 19, I set out to make my first feature film. This was my film school. We spent an entire summer shooting late at night (after our real jobs) and actually completed the film. My thought was; Spielberg did Jaws at 25, Rodriguez did El Mariachi at 23, I'll beat them to the punch.
